Nestled in the heart of Elizabeth, NJ, Costa's B.B.Q & Grill Restaurant serves up an authentic fusion of Portuguese, Spanish, and classic barbecue flavors that promise a memorable dining experience. This vibrant eatery is a treasure trove for food lovers craving hearty, richly flavored dishes that celebrate tradition and quality.

From the moment you step inside, the warm and inviting atmosphere mirrors the care put into every plate. The friendly and attentive service, often praised by regulars like Cecilia and Iris Gonzales, complements the enticing menu filled with generous portions that satisfy both the palate and the appetite.

Specialties such as the BBQ Ribs Portuguese Style and the succulent Short Ribs showcase the kitchen’s mastery of smoky, tender barbecue with a distinctive Portuguese twist. Don’t miss the BBQ Chicken and Rice with Fries or the Half Rack of Pork Ribs with Rice and Fries, each dish bursting with bold, comforting flavors that invite you to savor every bite.

Fish aficionados will appreciate traditional Portuguese gems like the Codfish Bras Style (Bacalhau a Bras) and the creamy Baked Codfish in Cream Sauce (Bacalhau com natas), dishes that are both delicate and satisfyingly rich. For a truly indulgent treat, the Flan and cheesecake desserts offer a smooth, sweet finish, perfectly balancing the savory elements of your meal.

Beyond the star entrees, lighter fare—such as the fresh Tossed Salad with alface, tomate e cebola and the Jardineira Salad—provide refreshing contrasts, while the variety of Portuguese-style sandwiches like the Ham and Cheese Sandwich or the Egg, Ham, and Cheese Sandwich make for quick, delicious bites.

Patrons frequently commend the sizable portions and reasonable prices, making it an ideal spot for family gatherings or casual dinners, as noted by Ketia Nichols who fed her family of seven with delight. The cozy interior and genuine hospitality create a feeling of dining among friends, a sentiment captured by many who return time and again, eager to revisit the flavors and warmth that Costa's B.B.Q & Grill offers.

While parking can be a bit limited, as Chun Yang mentions, this small inconvenience is far outweighed by the rewarding experience of flavorful dishes and welcoming service from staff members like Mircala—the friendly waitress known for her attentive care highlighted by several customers.

For those seeking a heartfelt descent into Portuguese and barbecue cuisine, Costa's B.B.Q & Grill Restaurant invites you to indulge in a culinary celebration where every bite tells a story of tradition, passion, and savor. Whether it’s the juicy Churrasco, the classic Bacon fried rice, or a generous helping of their renowned Thanksgiving Turkey for 8 People, this eatery stands as a shining star in Elizabeth’s vibrant food scene.

Great place to eat. Clean, friendly waitress, and good food. Parking lot is a bit small but it wasn't too hard to park on the street on a Monday evening. I would go back as the food portions were sizable and tasty.

I gotta say this place delivers when you want barbecue chicken I got barbecue chicken with rice and boiled potatoes and the flan. All of it was delicious. Prices are pretty reasonable half chickens 13 bucks with plenty of plenty of food. It’s enough for two people. You could smell this place from around the corner.Parking is pretty easy too. You might have to go around the block, but there’s plenty of parking on all the side streets.
